When it comes to nonprofits, there is no shortage of "need." In fact, most exist to fill a need in our communities, whether they be local (a neighborhood food pantry serving the poor), national (a huge organization funding the search for a cure to a disease), or global (protecting the world's oceans from pollution). Of course, each of these organizations has needs of its own. Heck, there are nonprofit organizations that exist just to fill the needs of other nonprofits.

Film Festival Gives Nonprofits Exposure

I've recently run across an organization called Lights. Camera. Help. that has created a new way for nonprofits to take their recorded messages to a new audience. Last year, LCH put together a film festival that showcased both movies and PSAs created by other nonprofits. In addition to expanding each organization's reach, they have also provided a judged forum for these pieces of work to be acknowledged and rewarded.

In its broadest sense, merchant services refers to all thing related to being able to accept electronic forms of payment. This might mean being able to take online donations through your website, processing sales from a retail location, or even accepting payment for services rendered. Being able to accept credit and debit cards is pretty important in today’s environment, and nonprofits who don’t take advantage of this may be missing out on a whole lot.
