Portland Communications released its survey of the top 100 most influential philanthropists, reports Nonprofit Pro. The Communicating Global Giving report found that Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has the most social media influence. The Foundation has 45 million followers across all platforms.

Nonprofit Tech Job Creator Expands into Kansas City
According to the Biz Journal, LaunchCode, a St. Louis based nonprofit that helps create technology jobs for the underprivileged, is expanding into Kansas City. LaunchCode received a $250,000 grant from Missouri Technology Corp to help bring the program to the city.

New App Wants to Make Donating in App Easy
According to City Lab, a new app called WeShelter, wants to make giving easier on Apple and Android devices. Currently, Apple rules state that you can’t make a donation in the App, you must go outside the app, which keeps many people from donating via an app. So, WeShelter works on the basis of an in app click will unlock a donation from a corporate sponsor. A donation is made, without leaving the app.

According to Chronicle of Philanthropy, Warren Buffet’s annual charity auction generated a winning bid of $2.3 million dollars. The winning bid went to a Chinese video game developer, the winner gets a steak dinner with Warren Buffet.
